#sitarwonderboy & the Creator of the SiGVee, Soham Munim has performed widely as a soloist in Sitar as well as having experimented in the World-Fusion space in collaborations – which have led him to research & subsequently create his own instrument, the SiGVee, uniquely adding to the existing Sitar techniques and their implementations through an original approach.

Important To Know

For years, my music has lived through my practice, without receiving any sustainable support from any of the cultural bodies, while the same bodies have extended their support towards many others in the form scholarships, young artist / State or National Level awards irrespective of their standard; that have largely helped in profiling them to agencies – which as per my background check are none other than some impressionable fronts that are run in the background by successful artists themselves in partnership or atleast having them on their advisory committee. So while I’ve been privileged to have received some of the finest education, the true merit in my musicianship has often been overshadowed by the great names that I’ve been associated with, as the impressarios, with a certain notion of success as their priority, have hardly been committed to Progress, in my experience! I do not wish to throw any names as a means to influence any audience, while all the background-worshipping janata can access it here through their smart phones, tabs, computers etc! So my background is also the truth which is unnecessary to announce to the public before any performance, as it bears no relevance towards my performance which is all about aptitude.
